How does alcohol affect your body?
Kidneys
Believe it or not, alcohol does not directly affect your kidneys. It does however affect your liver (see below). And the truth is.. if your liver fails.. your kidneys will eventually follow. You’ll find that your kidneys are loyal followers to the heart and liver. If those organs shut down or stop working properly, the kidneys go too.
Liver
Yes. Alcohol will kill your liver. So if you’re waking up a chugging a pint of vodka, please stop. You might be wondering- What’s the harm? Well, if your liver dies, toxins build up (the liver is a cleaning crew too), you turn YELLOW, and you become confused. There are a lot of other problems that come from liver failure but those are just a few.
Skin
People who drink heavily develop skin changes. In general, there’s the appearance of aging along with the classic changes on the skin of the nose. Heavy drinkers develop visible blood vessels on their skin too. So it’s not just the inside that’s affected, it’s the outside too.
General
Remember this. Alcohol does absolutely NOTHING beneficial for your body. You’re welcome. This isn’t a recommendation to cut out alcohol. Just asking for moderation! Thanks!
